As the Cristal Festival returns to France for the first time in four years, I think it is appropriate to borrow the words of the great French philosopher Voltaire to describe the unique opportunity this event offers to the international marketing and media community:
“Is there any man so wise as to learn from the experience of another?” Learning from the experience of another – that is the essence of Cristal. Far beyond the awards competition, Cristal is first and foremost an extraordinary learning experience, taught by some of the most creative and innovative minds in our industry. Indeed, only need look at the program cover – with its bold promise of “an international summit of media and advertising” – to confirm that advancing the art and science of engagement is the primary mission of this festival . And it is in that spirit that I am proud to serve as the president of the 2013 Cristal Media Jury, not simply to award the best ideas and thinking, but to help support our collective opportunity to learn from them as well. |
